Office Policies & Financial Info

We welcome you to our practice! We are dedicated to providing the best oral health care to infants, children and teens in a safe and welcoming environment. We appreciate you have chosen us and will do our best to earn your trust in caring for your children.

To make your experience and visit with us as smooth as possible and in order to improve communication, we have developed our office policies to assist in that process. Please read the following policies overview. We are happy to answer any questions at your next visit(s)!

Lateness/Missed and/or Broken Appointments

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to take care of any questions insurance or payment issues and to allow adequate time to care for your child. Late patients may need to be rescheduled. We want to avoid compromising care and be fair with patients that arrive on time. We try our best to minimize wait time, however, don’t forget that we are treating children and sometimes they require more time than anticipated. Also, please note that patients may not be seen in the order they arrive due to the type of treatment they will be receiving and which provider will be treating them.

We require 24 hours advance notice (by 2PM the prior business day) if you cannot make your scheduled appointment. This will allow us enough time to schedule another child patient in your place, as there are more patients who need dental care than we have room in our schedule to see, on any given day. And for this reason, we allow only 1 missed appointment (without prior notice) per 12 months. For a second broken appointment within 12 months you will then be placed on a “same-day call list”.

We accept most all forms of insurance. Insurance policies vary greatly, so we can only estimate your coverage. Your estimated patient portion (if any) MUST be paid at the time of service regardless of who is accompanying your child to the appointment.

For families without any insurance, we offer a 10% discount on all services.

We accept cash, checks and major credit cards as well as Care Credit.

Cell Phone Use and Photography

We ask that all families and visitors be mindful of how they use their phones and other electronic devices.

We understand your desire to take pictures of your child’s dental visits and we are happy to comply here at Prairie Kids Dental. However, due to privacy, security and courtesy concerns you must obtain prior approval from the staff. In addition, we ask that you do not record or take pictures during dental procedures.

Please do not talk on your phone while simultaneously talking with a doctor or other staff member and keep your phone on vibrate mode only while in patient treatment areas.

As part of a complete dental electronic record and for ID purposes, we take a photo of each child.

Accompanying Your Child

For some dental treatment appointments, we may allow someone other than the parent or legal guardian to accompany your child, after their initial visit. We understand it’s not always possible to take time off from work. Please inform us at the time of the initial visit to complete a form with detailed information on that authorization.
